Research
Erik’s research interest is to study the fastest dynamics in molecules, at the intersection of electronic and vibrational timescales, with the help of extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) attosecond pulses. He is most interested in few-photon processes (XUV + moderate IR-intensity, or a single x-ray photon) to limit the perturbations of the sample and maximize the chemical relevance. His work has been focused on the design of spectrometers and software for analyzing multiple charged particles (ion pairs, electron pairs or electrons and ions from the same molecule) to experimentally get detailed information about the kinematics of photoreactions involving ionization.
