In her research project, Josina is using the ultrashort UV-, XUV- and IR-pulses in the FS-ATTO laboratory in a pump-probe configuration to investigate electron dynamics in molecules with femto- to attosecond temporal resolution. Her emphasis is the study of UV induced dynamics. Understanding these dynamics can give an integral insight into UV driven processes in biology, such as the production of vitamin D in skin cells and DNA damage in the form of thymine dimerization.
